I think the underlying idea behind the movie Plan 9 From Outer Space is actually not that bad. Aliens using reanimated corpses to conquer Earth because humanity is too stupid to live, yet too clever to be allowed to kill themselves off before progressing enough to take the galaxy with them.

There's money in there, people. Get a good script, some decent actors, actual production values, and more than ten minutes' thought into the plot, and that might be something to see. It's the kind of flick you'd have to throw $80 million at, minimum.

Bride of the Monster is irredeemable, though.
